About VND2,395 billion (US$106.26) million will be invested in construction of many items at the border gate including an inter-department checkpoint, goods transport and service center, cargo inspection yard, and traffic, electricity and water systems.

The province has set a target to yield about US$460 million of total export import turnover through this border gate by 2020.

La Lay international border gate was opened in June last year. It is the second border gate linking Vietnam to Laos in Quang Tri, along with Lao Bao.
