The US Agency for International Development agreed to finance the US$26.5 million Vietnam Forest and Deltas Programme 2012-2017 to cope with climate change in four provinces.

The US Agency for International Development agreed to finance the US$26.5 million Vietnam Forest and Deltas Programme 2012-2017 to cope with climate change in four provinces.

The project focuses on mountainous areas to lower carbon emissions by improving land-use. The four provinces focused on include Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Nam Dinh and Long An.

The aim is to integrate Vietnam’s policies to align with sustainable development, better forest management, and create a public awareness of climate change.

Long An Province People’s Committee held ceremony commencing the region’s project on February 26.
