US and DPRK leaders start second working day

President of the United States  Donald Trump and leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong-un began the second working day at Luxury Five Star Hotel- Sofitel Legend Metropole in Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi this morning.

Speaking at the meeting, the DPRK leader pledged to make an effort in order to bring a success for the conference.

After the dinner last night, both leaders expressed their optimism about the goal of peacekeeping and working toward denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. On Twitter, Mr. Trump announced that he experienced a good meeting and great dialogue with Mr. Kim Jong-un in Hanoi.

This is the second summit between the US and North Korea leaders within the past eight months. 

After the first summit in Singapore in June 2016, inter-Korean economic cooperation has achieved many positive results; however, North Korea has still been facing international sanctions as well as unilateral sanctions from the United States.

This second summit is expected to draw up specific scheme towards denuclearization, contributing verifiable peacekeeping in the Korean Peninsula and the region. In addition, the event is expected to open an opportunity to loosen US sanctions on North Korea.
