Young people aged 15 – 24 are 2.75 times more likely to be unemployed than the rest of population, accounted 6.71percent, according to a report issued by the General Statistics Office (GSO)on laborers in the first half of the year.
The unemployment rate in the ages of 15 up in the first six months of the year is estimated around 2.44 percent. The rate of unemployed people in urban was 3.35 percent and in countryside was 2 percent.
Worse, the unemployment rate in rural districts is higher than that in urban areas with the rate of 3.11 percent and 1.29 percent respectively.
The number of people aged 15 years old up in the country is estimated 53.86 million people by July 1, 2015, an increase of 147,000 people compared to the same period last year.
People in that age group who have a job at present account 52.55 million. 45.1 percent of them are working in agriculture, forestry and aquatic-raising sectors; 21.8 percent of them are working in industry and construction and the rets working in service sector, accounting for 33.1 percent.
