Tons of dead fish appear in floating farms in Ha Tinh

During 3 days, tons of oyster and fish bred in floating farms in Cua Sot River died en mass without clear reason, said a member of Hop Luc Cooperative in the central province of Ha Tinh Nguyen  Hong Son yesterday.

Son, one of first members of the Cooperative said he saw a few of dead fish in farm in Thach Bang Commune. However, within two days from September 13 to 14, some two tons of dead fish were found in other farms.

Additionally, oyster has died for half a month without clear reason. Loss is calculated up to billions of Vietnam dong.

Receiving the information of deaths of aquatic animal, People’s Committee of Thach Bang Commune reported to relevant agencies. 

A staff from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in Loc Ha District said that through checking salinity level in water showing that salinity concentration is equal to zero while fish in cages just can live in salt water.
