Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) has submitted a draft to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung proposing a day’s leave adjustment for state employees for the coming Tet holiday season.
The Ministry has proposed that state employees be given leave from work on January 27, 2012 (Friday), and make up the day by working on February 4, 2012 (Saturday).
The proposal requests for state employees to be given nine days off, from January 21 to January 29, 2012.
The leave adjustment will not be applicable for businesses that operate seven days a week and don’t have fixed off days on Saturday and Sunday.
According to the Ministry, a day’s leave adjustment will give employees extra time for traveling and celebrating Tet, while economy too will receive a boost with consumers shopping an extra day.
