At present, over 300 workers are working three shifts a day to repair the landslide damaged rail track in the mountain pass, Dong Hoa district, the central province of Phu Yen.
However, they have met with difficulties with the huge volume of landslide debris reaching 5,000 cubic meters and tough terrain, one side is the cliff and the other is the sea.
The altitude at the scene is 30 meters so construction progress has been slow. Machines cannot enter the area so workers have manually transported materials such as stones and steel cages.
During the repair time, the railway industry continues organizing transit buses to transport passengers from Hao Son station in Phu Yen province to Dai Lanh station in Khanh Hoa province.
