HA NOI (VNS)— Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant-General Pham Quy Ngo, lost his battle with cancer yesterday at the age of 60.
According to the online PetroTimes, Ngo, who became the deputy minister in 2010, breathed his last breath in the Ha Noi-based Military Hospital 108 at 4pm.
Ngo was reported to have devoted his life to public security and was a trailblazer in many important investigation cases. Most recently, he was in charge of investigation into the corruption case involving national shipping company Vinalines, which reportedly created a loss of VND366 billion (US$17.26 million) for the State budget.
