The first International Grapes and Wine Festival 2014 last night was officially opened in Phan Rang-Thap Cham City, the south central province of Ninh Thuan with the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam.

The festival was hosted to honor grape growers in Ninh Thuan and create a chance for the province to introduce its specialty and policies to attract investors in the grape processing industry.
Ninh Thuan is the country's sole and largest grape growing area with about 1,100 hectares.
Cultivation mainly concentrates in Ninh Phuoc, Ninh Hai and Ninh Son District and Phan Rang-Thap Cham City.
There are areas specializing in grape cultivation in the province and some large businesses have built processing plants there.
