Nearly VND4,000 billion donated to support people affected by natural disasters

According to official statistics, to date, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels has mobilized nearly VND4,000 billion (US$152 million) to support residents in affected provinces in overcoming the damage caused by storms and floods.

From the funds received, the Central Relief Mobilization Committee under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has disbursed support in 10 installments to 23 provinces and cities.

Continuing to respond to the appeal of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, on December 17, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front received contributions from various organizations and enterprises.

Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department under the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vu Van Tien said that as of December 17, more than 1.1 million individuals and over 12,000 organizations, agencies, and enterprises had contributed either through bank accounts or directly at the Central Relief Mobilization Committee’s collection points, with total funds and in-kind donations exceeding VND1,252 billion (US$477.5 million).

The Central Relief Mobilization Committee has also issued a directive requesting relief committees in provinces and cities to report on the receipt and allocation of voluntary contributions, propose support measures, and develop concrete implementation plans in coordination with local People's Committees to ensure that resources reach the affected populations as quickly and effectively as possible.
