The construction for National Road 1A’s upgrade commenced on February 22.
The highway stretches from Hanoi to Bac Giang Province. Upgrades will cover a length of 45.8 kilometers under the (BOT) build-operate-transfer model and will cost VND 4,213 billion.
It is expected to complete construction in 2016 with four to six lanes that can handle speeds up to 100 kilometers per hour.
It aims to reduce accidents and boost economic development in the region.
