Mortality rate due to air pollution from power plants in VN surges

It is estimated that death due to air pollution from coal-fired power plants in Vietnam will increase from 4,300 in 2011 to 15,700 in 2030,  said director of the Research and Training Center for Community Development Tran Tuan.

Air pollution from coal-fired power plants killed 2.85 million people in 2015; the figure was released by Ton Tuan Nghia from the World Health Organization in a semonar “Air pollution badly affects community’s health” in Hanoi yesterday.
Air-pollution include in the home and outside. Air- pollution in home causes death for kids under the age of five with respiratory diseases like pneumonia.
As per plan, by 2030, the Southeast Asian country will have additional 41 coal-fired plants. According to a recent Harvard University study on rising coal emissions' health effects in Southeast Asia, the mortality rate due to air pollution from coal-fired power plants will rise from 4,300 in 2011 to 15,700 in 2030, said director of the Research and Training Center for Community Development Tran Tuan.
Mr. Tuan urged the government to soon set up air pollution and follow international organizations’ warning as well as increase information of the disease to residents in the plant to have prevention.
