Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has sent instructions to all local administrators of cities and provinces across the country to immediately implement preventive measures against Avian flu, and especially oversee transmission via border crossings.
Quarantine check points should be placed at entry points at all border crossings and tests must be done on smuggled chickens to detect A/H5N1, H7N9 and H10N8 virus.
Concerned agencies must issue harsh penalties on people transporting infected poultry products and transport of such products with unclear origin must also be brought under control.
