The Ho Chi Minh City Transport Department has just submitted different alternative to build Ring Road No.4 under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model to HCMC People’s Committee.
Ring Road No.2 of Ho Chi Minh City is critical in reducing the traffic pressure for the inner city. Sadly, after many years launching the construction project, there is still a section of 14km unable to finish owing mostly to a capital lack and trouble in land clearance.
SGGP Newspaper yesterday held a discussion about ‘Draft Law on Land (amended): Removing Barriers – Promoting Internal Resources’, attracting the participation of leaders of several state units and central organizations, experts, and citizens currently using agricultural land.
The construction project of Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai Province is running, leading to significant price increases in land regardless of its use purpose. The precise identification of land use type, therefore, directly influences the right of local residents during land clearance compensation as well as trading.
The project to establish Long Thanh International Airport is one key national project approved by the Government to enter the first phase from 2021-2025, with an investment of over VND109 billion (approx. US$4.8 million). However, the step of Dong Nai Province handing over 5,000ha of land for construction cannot be finished this year owing to difficulties in land clearance.
Recently, many land-related projects have been behind schedule due to complications and limits in compensation and resettlement tasks. As a result, the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) People’s Committee put forward a proposal to the Prime Minister to allow a ‘special’ mechanism in the city in order to decrease the project time of several current projects here.
