The Japanese Government has given US$314,098 to Vietnam for five projects as part of an ongoing assistance program, in a meeting at the office of Consulate-General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City on December 16.
Under the Grassroots and Human Security Project, , Nakajima Satoshi, the Japanese consul in Ho Chi Minh City, handed over the money to representatives from the southern provinces of Tra Vinh, Long An, Binh Phuoc and the central highlands province of Dak Nong.
Of the amount, US$77,880 and US$46.707 are used for constructing 6 bridges in Tra Vinh Province’s Cau Ke District and Tan Phuoc Tay Commune in Tan Tru District of Long An Province respectively.
US$72,514 is used for building roads in Dac Xuan village in Nam Xuan Commune of Krong No District of Dak Nong Province.
US$89,128 and US$27,869 are for buying medical equipment and ambulances for the General Hospital in Bu Gia Map District of Binh Phuoc Province and for medical facility in Tan Thanh District in Long An Province.
