Heroes to partake in Hanoi’s millennial anniversary

One thousand Vietnamese wartime heroes, including armed forces’ heroes, labor heroes, and heroic mothers from across the nation, will be selected to attend the “Thang Long – Hon thieng song nui,” which will be held on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi in October this year.

One thousand Vietnamese wartime heroes, including armed forces’ heroes, labor heroes, and heroic mothers from across the nation, will be selected to attend the “Thang Long – Hon thieng song nui,” which will be held on the occasion of the 1,000th anniversary of Hanoi in October this year.

The Vietnam Veterans Association and Mai Linh Corp., the program organizers, on January 9 announced the launch of the program at a meeting in Hanoi.

Figures in 2009 showed there are 46,318 heroic mothers, and 3,322 people who hold the title of “hero” in Vietnam, of which 562 are heroic martyrs.
