The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (CanCham), in partnership with the VinaCapital Foundation (VCF), provided life-saving heart surgery for 25 young Vietnamese children in 2009.

The children were from very poor backgrounds and would otherwise not have been able to afford such surgery.

CanCham’s Campaign for Heartbeat Vietnam raised a total of US$13,500 last year, with the main fundraiser being the annual VinaCapital CanCham Charity Golf Tournament.

“We are so proud to have wonderful and generous partners like CanCham and the Canadian business community in Vietnam,” said Mrs. Robin King Austin, CEO and Executive Director of VCF.

“To have saved the lives of 25 precious children is an amazing accomplishment, and we hope to save many more together in 2010.”
