The award ceremonies of the title “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 327 women, including 16 alive mothers and 311 died mothers, in Ho Chi Minh City, whose husbands and sons laid down their lives for the country’s independence, were held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 21.

Ho Chi Minh City's Party Committee Secretary Le Thanh Hai, HCM City People's Committee Chairman Le Hoang Quan and Vice Secretary of the Party Committee Nguyen Thi Thu Ha attended ceremonies.
Party Secretary Le Thanh Hai expressed deeply his gratitude to mothers with their great devotions and sacrifices for the national liberation.
Mr. Le Thanh Hai also led the city delegation and state officials visited Ho Chi Minh City Martyrs Cemetery.
Chairman Le Hoang Quan and representatives of departments and agencies offered incenses and laid wreaths to commemorate martyrs at Ben Duoc Martyrs Memorial Site in Cu Chi District.
The events are part of the activities to mark the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22).
