The price of gold in Vietnam declined sharply by VND120,000 on March 9 over the previous day’s closing price.
Saigon Jewelry Company bought gold at VND26.65 million and sold at VND26.70 million per tael.
Globally, bullion was at US$1,121.8 an ounce at 16:40 Vietnamese time March 9, a decrease of $1.9 an ounce over the last closing price.
Gold experts said prices had fallen due to the US dollar bouncing back and global investors pushing to sell the metal to take profits.
