A flash flood inundated nearly 1,000 homes and endamaged 90 hectares of crops in Luong Son town, Bac Binh District of the southern central province of Binh Thuan early Saturday.

Flooding left the province VND1 billion (US$950,000) in financial losses, according to an initial report.
Floodwaters overflew 1A Highway, causing traffic congestion on three kilometers of the road. Vehicles were just able to travel again by 11am the same day.
According to local residents, floodwaters triggered by heavy rains in the upper reaches began flocking to the town at 2am on the day. Within just one hour, floodwaters submerged homes together with all furniture.
