Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai on Saturday morning attended the ground breaking ceremony of a VND800 billion solar power project in the central province of Quang Ngai.
The solar power plant invested by Thien Tan Investment and Construction Company is scheduled to complete in July next year and to contribute about 28 million kWh a year to the national grid.
Project investor Thien Tan Investment and Construction Company plans to build another 1,000 MW plant at US$2 billion in the south central province of Ninh Thuan.
Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai expressed happiness to see local authorities in Quang Ngai, Ninh Thuan and Kon Tum and businesses positively cooperate together in solar power development.
The Government is compiling a policy for the solar power development and the Ministry of Industry and Trade collecting opinions from other ministries on this, he added.
