At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and State President Truong Tan Sang, Cambodia's King Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni officially visited Vietnam on October 19.
Cambodia's King Shihamoni had a meeting with President Truong Tan Sang in Hue city yesterday evening. At the meeting, President Truong Tan Sang sent the greetings from General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese high ranking leaders to King Shihamoni.
King Sihamoni's visit to Vietnam is to express the friendly relations between the two countries.
On this occasion, Vietnamese President also reviewed the long-standing tradition of solidarity and cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia; especially, support of late King of Cambodia Norodom Sihanouk and people to Vietnam's struggle for independence and reunification.
In reality, Vietnam’s Party, State and people have always paid attention and respected to strengthen further friendly relations and comprehensive cooperation with Cambodia, affirmed President Sang.
King Sihamoni stressed that Cambodia always regards Vietnam as its good friend, brother and neighboring country. Hence, Cambodia will continue to boost good friendly relations and cooperation with Vietnam in upcoming years.
In several days, Mr. Norodom Sihamoni is going to visit culture and historical destinations in Hue and Da Lat city.
The visit is scheduled to last till October 22.
