KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Feb. 5 (AFP) – A remote-control bomb exploded at a dog fight in southern Afghanistan on Friday, killing and wounding up to 20 people, police said.

The bomb was placed on a motorcycle parked near a dog-fighting pit in Lashkar Gah, capital of restive Helmand province, and was remotely detonated as a crowd gathered to watch the fight, said the deputy provincial police chief.
"The blast has killed and wounded 20 people," Kamaludin Khan told AFP.
Two bodies and 14 wounded were admitted to the main provincial hospital in the city, said the head of Helmand's health directorate, Anayatullah Ghafari.
"They keep bringing more wounded, and so far we have registered 14 wounded and two dead," he said.
