People’s Committee in the central province of Binh Thuan said that it has sent petition to the Prime Minister, asking for emergency relief after drought.
Binh Thuan authorities asked the PM and related ministries, agencies to aid VND106 billion (US$4,750) to buy 400 tons rice seeds and corn seeds to provide for residents in the province and water supply to over 40,000 people with 40 liter water for each a day in 160 days.
Total is worth VND15.35 billion.
The province government also asked the PM to support VND71 billion for dredging and repair canals for immigration to prepare for the winter-spring crop and another VND20.1 billion for water supply constructions to fight against dry season this year.
