Ba Son Shipyard receives First-class Military Medal

The Ba Son Shipyard under the General Department of Defense Industry held a ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of its traditional day in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4.

The Ba Son Shipyard under the General Department of Defense Industry held a ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of its traditional day in Ho Chi Minh City on August 4.

The corporation also received the First-class Military Medal for its outstanding achievements in applying advanced technologies for ship repair, and implementing the task of sea and islands sovereignty protection.

Ba Son Shipyard Company have special historical and cultural value. This site is the only location which is existing evidence of the growth of the country’s shipyard industry from the Nguyen Dynasty in the 18th century up to date. 

The relics are evidence of the country’s sea economy and a place that reminds people of revolutionary activities over the years and where President Ton Duc Thang once used to work as a mechanic, especially the strike of more than 1,000 Ba Son workers was happened in August 4, 1925.
