The South Korean Consulate General to Ho Chi Minh City, the Korean Chamber of Commerce and three press agencies on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to introduce charity and social activities of Korean companies in the southern region.
The three newspapers include Sai Gon Giai Phong (Sai Gon Liberation), Vietnam – Korea Times under the Vietnam News Agency and Tien Phong (Vanguard).
Twenty large Korean businesses have sponsored charitable program in the southern region and pledged to continue accompanying by it in the time ahead.
South Korean Consulate General to HCMC Park Noh Wan said that over 3,400 Korean businesses had invested in Vietnam and recruited one million local workers. Of these, 2,000 companies are in HCMC and surrounding provinces.
Many of them have positively done charity works. The MoU aimed to encourage them to further contribute to the society via such activities, he said.
