12 organizations, individuals win I-Star Awards 2019

The Department of Science and Technology on October 19 gave the I-Star Awards 2019 and cash prizes worth VND50 million (US$2,149) each to 12 organizations and individuals for their outstanding startup and innovation achievements.

Five months after launching the awards, the organization board received 277 valid applications of which 40 were chosen to the final round in four groups.

The group of newly established innovative startup businesses had three winners namely BusMap, 689Cloud and TK25 Technology Company.

The group of innovative solutions saw three winners including STEAM model of Le Quy Don secondary school, KDI model of KDI Education Company and the interconnection process to grant business and tax registration certificates by the Economic Department in District 3.

The group of media works had three winners including the innovation column of the specialized website on innovation, startup fair-smart startup program by the Voice of Ho Chi Minh City, innovation and entrepreneurship resilience program by Ho Chi Minh City Television.

In the meantime, the Center for Business Incubation of Agricultural High Technology in Ho Chi Minh City (AHBI), Topica Founder Institute and the Women's Initiative for Start-ups and Entrepreneurship (WISE) won the prize in the group of incubation organizations, investors, consultants and innovation supporting organizations.
