The honor was part of the HCMC Information Technology and Communications Awards 2009, presented by the city’s Office of Information and Communications.

Earlier on 20 March, the portal Zing.vn won the title “Vietnamese Most Successful Digital Content Product of 2009,” an honor given out by the Ministry of Information and Communications.

Zing Me (http://me.zing.vn) was officially introduced in August 2009. Its development was based on the “social graph” concept using third-generation social networking architecture in addition to a user-friendly interface, allowing users to bring their creativity and personality into play.

It is now the most popular social networking site in Vietnam with more than 3.9 million active users and 410 million hits in February 2010 (figures provided by Google Ad Planner).

Just two months after it was first introduced, Zing Me took over as the leader of the Vietnamese social network market, outperforming competitors like Facebook, Zooz, Tamtay.
