From now on, citizens of Bac Ninh Province are able to monitor the progress and receive results of nearly 2,000 administrative formalities via Zalo app, including receiving home-ownership certificate, registration paper for land use rights, construction permit; adding information to civil status records, family record books; and receiving results of disputes and complaints.
According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Director of the Bac Ninh Province Department of Information and Communications, Zalo is implemented in two channels. The first one – a direct communication between the local authorities and citizens as well as businesses – has a function to announce the progress of administrative formalities to citizens and allow them to rate their satisfaction, notice citizens whether their suggestions and questions are processed or not, and introduce new policies of the province. The second channel is a local management system via Zalo to notice state officers of new documents that need processing or new meeting schedules.
Similarly, in the central province of Binh Thuan, citizens can look up and receive results of more than 2,000 provincial administrative formalities via Zalo, including registering a birth, a marriage with local and foreign people, or adding information to civil status records, receiving unemployment insurance benefits, gaining transport business certificate, registering license plates for vehicles, applying for Vietnamese citizenship, asking for evaluation and ranking of tourist accommodations.
When submitting documents at state officers, citizens will receive an electronic receipt via Zalo, or scan a QR code printed on the receipt so that they can easily monitor the progress of related administrative formalities and then receive results right at home.
Many new policies, notices, and pieces of information can also be quickly updated through Zalo regardless of time.
According to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hai, Chairman of the Binh Thuan Province People’s Committee, the new e-government can greatly boost the effectiveness of work and better serve citizens.
Sharing the same thought, the local authorities of the central city of Da Nang have also selected Zalo app as a means for citizens to look up land prices, traffic law violations, information on driving licenses, the progress of administrative formalities, bus stops and routes, hygienic food shops, results of the high school entrance exam, and other practical welfare services.
At the moment, many provinces nationwide like Dong Nai, An Giang, and Tien Giang have finished the integration of administrative services into Zalo app and allowed citizens to use it. Around 20 more provinces are on their way to build a technological connection to Zalo app so that citizens can take advantage of the new technology as soon as possible.
