As for production, fresh food was at 25,515 tons, up 2 percent; processed food touched 22,660 tons, up 19 percent over the same period in 2017.
Last year, Vissan had faced several difficulties due to increasing pig prices. Average pig price climbed up to 48.8 percent compared to that in 2017, leading to a surge in prices of Vissan’s products causing a drop in the number of customers. On the other hand, it also faced competition from other companies for fresh food market share. The company had to tighten control on input materials and carry out cost saving in order to achieve such business results.
The company targets to get a revenue of VND4.85 trillion ($209 million) this year, an increase of 9 percent compared to last year and pre-tax profit of VND200 billion ($8.6 million), up 14 percent. Fresh food production aims to reach 28,090 tons, up 10 percent and processed food will also be 10 percent higher to 24,930 tons.
