A Vietnamese woman was killed by her Korean husband on March 6, confirmed the Women’s Union of Can Tho City in the Mekong Delta and the Korean Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City.
The 48-year-old Korean man had been showing signs of mental unbalance for a long time. He finally committed suicide soon after killing his Vietnamese wife.
His wife, 38-year-old Pham Thi Loan from Thot Not District went with her husband to Korea, about three months ago.
Pham Vam Ri, Loan’s father said that his daughter had got married in August 2011, and went with her husband to Korea on January 21, 2012.
On March 6, he was told of his daughter’s murder. He later told reporters that her husband, a construction worker, had strangled her to death.
After the incident, Ms. Phan Thi Hong Nhung, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Can Tho City visited Loan’s family to condole them. She said that the Union would help Loan’s family to complete the necessary procedures to go to Korea to bring back Loan’s body back to her hometown.
