Possessing advanced features and user-friendly interface, this new network is expected to attract customers thanks to its high-quality and diversified content.

Lotus is the most cherished product of 200 Vietnamese technological engineers. It allows users to see the most suitable content via customizing news feeds and trending news. In addition, state-of-the-art technologies such as information recommendation and selection algorithms, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning systems are applied to process more than five billion pieces of news in order to better suggest the most appropriate content for each user.

According to Mr. Nguyen The Tan, General Director of VCCorp, most social networks operating in Vietnam are not truly professional, with too much focus on news reading but not on users’ feelings, making them unfavorable. Therefore, ‘Lotus’ will concentrate more on creating precise concepts and ideas to meet the real demands of Vietnamese users. ‘Lotus’ will possess smooth-running and approachable features that are continuously improved and upgraded thanks to users’ feedbacks.

To obtain high-quality initial content, in this period, VCCorp cooperated with over 500 content creators in 20 different fields like education, economy, photography, story writing, blog and vlog writing, lifestyle, entertainment, music, marketing. It also makes good use of more than 30 sources of formal news, including VTV, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Lao Dong Newspaper, Thanh Nien Newspaper, Dan Tri Newspaper, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Quan Doi Nhan Dan Newspaper.

The General Director shared that September 9 was the opening time for close beta users of ‘Lotus’, followed by the open beta from September 16 lasting 3-6 months.

After this time, ‘Lotus’ will adjust minor mistakes and formally accept new users. It will also receive feedbacks from the public to add more necessary features or content.

“We hope to provide income for content creators after one month stably operating this social network”, said Mr. Tan.

After the initial investment of over VND700 billion (approx. $30.22 million) from both domestic and international businesses, VCCorp is planning to call for an additional VND500 billion ($21.59 million) for long-term development.
