Deputy Spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry Pham Thu Hang on March 9 highlighted Vietnam’s hope for continued close cooperation with China to boost tourism recovery and development in the two countries.
A conference on reviewing two years of implementing the cooperation agreement on tourism development in the Southeastern region in the 2020-2025 period and releasing an agreement in 2023 was held in Dong Xoai City in Binh Phuoc Province on November 29.
A conference to summarize the forum on linking tourism development between the country’s main cities of Hanoi and HCMC, and the central economic key region including Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, and Thua Thien-Hue in the 2021-2025 period was held in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai on August 8 with the participation of more than 300 delegates from cities and provinces across the country.
The Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap has strongly promoted tourism investment, including transport system, tourist sites and diversification of tourism services in recent years. The province has also cooperated with cities and provinces, and coordinated with the travel businesses to develop the tourism industry.
HCMC and the Mekong Delta province of Dong Thap need to develop bilateral connectivity and expand tourism cooperation to other localities where the pandemic has been basically brought under control, aiming at recovering tourism activities and creating job for people.
HCMC has basically bought the pandemic under control and slightly lift restrictions to spur socioeconomic recovery, including resumption of tourism activities to welcome tourists in November. The city’s travel companies hope to organize tours to the Central coastal province of Khanh Hoa.
A webinar on the prospects for Vietnam-India tourism cooperation in the post-pandemic era was held on September 17, bringing together representatives from some 200 travel companies, hotels, and media agencies in the two countries.
