Association Rencontres du Vietnam, a non-profit organization and an official partner of UNESCO, European Organization for Nuclear Research and universities in Virginia in the US jointly organized a scientific conference “EDS Blois 2019 on elastic and diffractive scattering” yesterday.
This year, ICISE opened three more classes teaching environmental issues as cradle of training a group of scientists on environment who will support the government in dealing with environmental problems, Professor Van added.
The conference at the International Center of Interdisciplinary Science Education (ICISE) in Quy Nhon City of the central province of Binh Dinh saw the participation of 54 scientists from 17 countries and territories around the world.
Speaking at the event, the Vietnamese professor said that the year conference will be about EDS, an elastic and diffractive scattering, which is a specialized field in particle physics research, which not many scientists in the world study and related-EDS issues.
He said that the chief goal of ICISE is to create favorable condition for scientists in the world to Vietnam to share advanced scientific knowledge and their newest researches.
The 18th event will last until June 29.
Initiated in 1985, the event of this kind is organised every two years in many parts of the world with the official name of EDS Blois.
This is the second time the conference has been held in Quy Nhon City.
Research topics at EDS Blois 2019 focus on elastic scattering and total scattering cross section; regional and central diffraction; heavy ions; distribution of parton and processes with hadron final states; generalized parton distributions; spin in physics; recent theoretical developments among others.
