The committee has proposed that the list of those fishermen and boat-owners be presented to the government, the Da Nang City People’s Committee and other relevant sectors for reward.

Typhoon Chanchu has caused great losses to fishermen in the central provinces of Quang Ngai and Quang Nam, and Da Nang City. Many boats sank, and rescue forces could not do anything. Under that circumstance, some captains and mariners voluntarily took part in the rescue work, saving 44 people and pulling 19 bodies out of water.

After the storm, they continued searching for missing people and boats, and carrying bodies of victims onshore.
