The Ministry of Transport yesterday organized a groundbreaking ceremony of the Dai Ngai Bridge’s project which is built on National Highway No. 60, linking the Mekong Delta provinces of Soc Trang and Tra Vinh.

The Dai Ngai Bridge covering 15, 2 kilometers stretchs of the highway with an estimated investment capital of VND 5, 800 billion for building two large bridges – Dai Ngai 1 and Dai Ngai 2, five medium and small-sized bridges.
Accordingly, Dai Ngai 1 will be completed a total length of 2, 24 kilometers crossing Dinh An River. After finishing, it will allow 10, 000- 20, 000 ton ships to travel over Hau River. Meanwhile, Dai Ngai 2 Bridge with total length of 0, 86 kilometers crossing Tran De River will receive maximum 2, 000 ton ship.
The Dai Ngai Bridge project with total investment capital of nearly VND 5, 800 billion following the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project is scheduled to be completed by 2018, aiming to reduce the distance to travel from the Mekong Delta provinces to HCM City.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh also attended in a groundbreaking ceremony of Chau Doc Bridge Investment and Building Project crossing Hau River to replace Chau Giang Ferry in Chau Doc city, An Giang.
The project following BOT project will connect total length of 3, 26 kilometers section of Highway 91 to Tan Chau town in An Giang province. It is scheduled to be completed by 2018.
