Ministry investigating bank robbery in Vinh Long Province

Police from the Ministry of Public Security today said they are hunting for the potentially armed suspect of an over US$9,108 bank robbery on September 27.

Police in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long liaised with ministry police officers on the robbery at a branch of state-run VietinBank in Hoa Phu Industrial Park, Hoa Phu Commune, Long Ho District.
The bank is located in quiet road. 35 year old bank guard Tran Ba Thinh said that on the day when the robbery happened, it is sunny so very a few people passed by the bank. Inside, three clients who were waiting for disbursement and six staffs.
According to the reports, the suspect wearing facemask, a T-shirt, sport shoes on motorbike Airblade without plate charged into the facility and instructed everyone to lay down on the floor before forcing an employee to fill his bag with cash.
Everyone inside the bank followed the robber’s order for the sake of their own safety. However, staffs made excuses that leaders keep safe keys; accordingly, the criminal took the bag fleeing. The robbery just took place in three minutes.
According to the bank, the culprit stole over VND207 million ( or around $9,108).
