Police in the northern province of Lao Cai said on June 18 they have broken up a major transnational drug-trafficking ring, seizing 42 cakes of heroin.
Police in coordination with their counterparts from the Department for Investigation of Drug-Related Crimes (PC47) stopped two cars on Highway 70 in Nam Siu Village in Lao Cai Province’s Bao Thang District and detected 42 cakes of heroin, five mobile phones and other document hidden in two cars.
Police arrested three persons including Lau A Cu, 30 in Bu Dang District of the southern province of Binh Phuoc; Veu Pia, 20, a Laotian woman, residing in Bori Khamxay, Lao and Van Thi Soa, 26, in Dien Bien Dong District of the northern province of Dien Bien.
This is the largest drug trans-national trafficking ring found which police forces have discovered so far, said PC 47.
