Lac Hong University wins National Robocon Contest

The Robocon team LH-B7 from Lac Hong University in the southern province of Dong Nai won the 2011 National Robocon Contest on May 15, reserving the right to represent Vietnam at the 2011 Asian Pacific Robocon Contest to be held in Thailand in September.

The final competition was held in Dang Nang City yesterday between seven competing teams.  Five teams from Lac Hong University, three from Bach Khoa University in Da Nang City, one team from Hanoi University of Industry and one team from a military university participated.

The second prize went to the Robocon team ALLIGATOR from Hanoi University of Industry and the third prize went to the Robocon team LH-CACTUS2 from Lac Hong University.

The contest management board granted VND40million (US$2,000) to the first prizewinner, VND25million ($1,250) to the second prizewinner and VND15million ($750) to the third prizewinner.
The qualifying round of the Robocon Contest was officially opened in early April at the Da Nang University in the presence of 270 students from 38 teams from universities and colleges of the central provinces.
