A delegation led by Le Thanh Hai, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary, visited Ly Son Island in the central coastal province of Quang Ngai on July 29.
Le Hoang Quan, Chairman of the People’s Committee of HCMC, Vo Van Thuong, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee and other officials also participated in the event.
Le Thanh Hai expressed his pride in Ly Son fishermen who work day and night at sea to earn their living and preserve the country's seas and islands.
He believed that Ly Son’s Party, authorities and armed forces will continue to develop solidarity and build a prosperous island district as well as contribute to protecting the nation’s seas and islands.
The delegation also visited An Hai Fisheries Trade Union, Radar station 550 on Thoi Loi Mountain, Ly Son Museum, national historical relic-Hang Pagoda, and offered VND2 billion to the Quang Ngai Fishermen Support Fund.
