Chairman of the Vietnam General Labor Union Bui Van Cuong yesterday gave VND500 million (US$21,974) as flood relief for locals in the central province of Khanh Hoa which was stricken by flood and landslide.
The chairman offered VND40 million each to two families whose houses were totally destroyed and relatives died in the landslide. He also gave VND5 million each to 8 families whose houses were completely collapsed.
Additionally, 70 households in Phuoc Dong Commune who suffered loss each received VND1 million from the union.
Mr. Cuong said that with Vietnamese tradition “The good leaves protect the worn-out leaves” laborers nationwide donate the amount, hoping that people in Khanh Hoa will overcome difficulties soon.
On behalf of laborers in the province, chairman of Khanh Hoa Labor Union Nguyen Hoa sent his thank-you to good hearts across the country.
