The Lam Dong Province’s Forest Management Agency has recently busted restaurants illegally trading wild animals and seized a large number of wild meats in the Central Highlands city of Da Lat.

Tu Loan, located on Hai Ba Trung Street, was uncovered with highest number of wild meats, up to 200 of over 300 kilograms detained from restaurants by officials of the agency and the Wildlife Conservation Association.
According to surveys conducted by the agency and the association, Tu Loan Restaurant has a close relationship with the nearby Tu Loan private zoo.
Tu Loan Zoo breeds various species including loris, red face monkey, sun bear, Asian black bear, wildcat, long tail monkey and impressed tortoise and has sold them to restaurants in Da Lat.
The number of animals bred in the zoo is not stable as they are regularly transported in and out for business goals.
The zoo has bred many species without registering with authorized organizations. The unregistered individuals include lories which are listed in the Government’s ban list for commercial purposes.
