Accordingly, importers must prove parboiled rice via providing all information in the manufacturer's declaration such as rice being soaked in water at a minimum temperature of 600 degree Celsius in at least four hours or at 650 degree Celsius in two hours, the rice being steamed at a minimum temperature of 1,100 degree Celsius in at least 10 minutes or 1,170 degree Celsius in five minutes.

The Australian Ministry of Agriculture will verify the declaration information through random tests of germinated rice shipments.

All costs associated with this test exam will be covered by the importer.
