42 state enterprises equitize in Vietnam

The Enterprise Reform and Development Steering Committee reported that 42 state-owned enterprises (SoEs) and two public service institutions have been equitized in Vietnam by the end of August this year.

In addition, 11 enterprises were reorganized during the first eight months this year. Of these, 11 were reorganized, nine dissolved, one bankrupted and one sold.

Since early this year, the equitization projects of 48 businesses have been approved. Their value neared VND32 trillion (US$1.44 billion) comprising VND23,280 billion state capital.

The committee has continued supervising and instructing the implementation of projects to equitize and restructure SoEs and agro, aqua and forestry companies.
