The Investigation Police Department on Drug-Related Crimes under the Ministry of Public Security and their peers in Ho Chi Minh City and Tay Ninh Province in the South have busted an transnational drug ring that smuggled over 100 kilograms of heroin and another 1,000 pills of synthetic drugs from Cambodia into Vietnam
According to initial information, police officers of the Investigation Police Department on Drug-Related Crimes, HCMC and Tay Ninh Province raided a sedan in Go Dau District. At the time, Vietnamese-Australian Vuong Quoc Thai, Ngo Thi Thanh Mai, Nguyen Xuan Hai and Bui Minh Bao Vy were in the vehicle.
Police officers discovered and confiscated four plastic bags containing white substance suspected heroin and another 1,000 pills of synthetic drugs on their vehicles.
The suspects admitted at the police station they bought the drug in Cambodia to sell in HCMC.
The case is under further investigation.
