The Ministry of Health on July 8 presented a Certificate of Merit to the Vietnam-German Hospital in Hanoi for its excellent work on viscera transplant.
Vietnam-German Hospital and the National Coordination Center for Organ Transplant had carried out viscera transplant surgeries from brain dead donors to save four people who suffered from heart, liver and kidney problems on June 30.
Nguyen Tien Quyet, the hospital’s director, said the hospital has so far carried out successfully 14 liver transplants, including three from live donors and 11 from brain dead donors, and 27 kidney transplants. In addition, the hospital has also performed seven heart transplant surgeries.
With such an excellent track record of successes, the hospital has helped to save patient’s money which they would have spent by going abroad for the same treatment.
On the same day, Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien visited and presented gifts to patients who underwent the transplant surgeries on June 30.
