Nguyen Thanh Ha, deputy director of the Thu Duc Wholesale Market, said that the price increase had been caused by long lasting stormy and rainy weather combined with high tide, which affected vegetable crops and fruit orchards.

Over the last three days, the volume of vegetables and fruits at Thu Duc Wholesale Market has increased by 3,200-3,300 tons a day, which Ms. Ha forecasts will further increase in the next few days.

The prices will also taper to levels at the end of September in the next few days, she added.
