People won’t have to pay a fee to update information on their health insurance cards, if they change their registered hospital or if there are mistakes caused by card-issuing officers, said Vietnam Social Insurance.

There will be a small fee to re-issue cards, however, that have been lost or damaged.
A fee of VND4,000 (UD$20 cents) will be imposed to re-issue health insurance cards from March 18 and additional changes to the information on the card will cost VND2,000 ($10 cents), said the office.
To update cards, send a request form with the old card to the district Health Insurance Division and expect to receive the new card in two to three days. In emergency cases, people can get new cards on the same day.
Of the 50 million people that have signed up for health insurance, 80 per cent have received their cards.
