Reference exchange rate up on October 8

The State Bank of Vietnam set the daily reference exchange rate for the US dollar at VND/USD 24,168 on October 8, up VND15 from the previous day.

With the current trading band of +/- 5 percent, the ceiling rate applicable for commercial banks during the day is VND/USD 25,376 and the floor rate VND/USD 22,960.

At major commercial banks, the opening hour rates increased remarkably.

At 8:30 a.m., both Vietcombank and BIDV listed the buying rate at VND/USD 24,690 and the selling rate at VND/USD 25,050, both up VND110 from October 7.
