According to him, the obstacle in negotiations lies in sanctions. The DPRK wants full removal of the sanctions but the US is yet to be able to meet such a demand.
However, he also affirmed the US is still interested in maintaining ties with the DPRK.
DPRK has pledged not to test missiles and nuclear weapons, US President Donald Trump told the press.
Kim wants denuclearisation but there is a huge gap towards the target. He is willing to dismantle Yongbyon facility if sanctions are lifted, Trump said.
He also thanked the Vietnamese Government and people for supporting his second summit with DPRK leader Kim, the DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit.
Earlier the same day, President Trump and Chairman Kim began their talks at 9 am but ended prematurely with no deal reached. They cancelled a scheduled lunch and joint signing ceremony.
